Details like Shou Sugi Ban wood, stained to match the surrounding pine trees, and artisan-designed custom lighting accentuate the feeling that you’re enveloped in the forest. Inside, you’ll encounter the inner circle bar, an intimate lounge, a dining area and an open kitchen. Take in the sights and smells as you watch chefs prepare exquisite meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner.


Position: 

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef who is not only cuisine creative, but also someone who truly understands the art of hospitality. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the dining experience, from menu creation to team management, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service. The Executive Chef will lead a dedicated team and collaborate with all departments to deliver personalized, guest-centric experiences that align with the green o's vision of excellence.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide ongoing training and development, ensuring the team is aligned with the green o’s high hospitality standards and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Build a cohesive, high-performing team through effective communication, delegation, and conflict resolution.
  • Encourage a collaborative approach to problem-solving, innovation, and delivering exceptional culinary experiences.
  • Demonstrate strong decision-making capabilities, particularly under pressure, while maintaining calm and clear direction.
  • Create and curate seasonal, locally inspired menus that offer a unique dining experience, incorporating guest preferences and dietary needs.
  • Innovate new dishes and culinary experiences, ensuring diversity and excitement in every meal while maintaining consistency in quality and presentation.
  • Balance creativity with practicality, ensuring all dishes are executable in a well-timed environment without compromising quality.
  • Submit future goals, operational improvements to the Director of Culinary.
  • Work closely with the Food & Beverage and Guest Services teams to ensure seamless coordination between front-of-house and kitchen operations.
  • Collaborate with event planners to create customized dining experiences for private events and special requests.
  • Build strong interdepartmental relationships to promote a unified guest experience across all unified areas with Paws Up Montana.
  • Develop and manage kitchen budgets, including food, labor, and operational costs, while maintaining high culinary standards.
  • Control food waste, manage inventory, and ensure efficient procurement of ingredients to maintain cost efficiency without sacrificing quality.

Looking for team members with: 

  • Certificate in culinary arts or relevant field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Sous Chef, or higher position in a high-end resort or fine dining setting
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Culinary Management 
  • Knowledge and experience of high-level hospitality and service management
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a culinary team
  • Valid State Driver’s License
  • Servsafe Manager Certified
