What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Tax Advisor / Manager position at Gilder Search Group?
The Tax Department provides tax consulting and planning services related to our client's diversified holdings including investments in privately held operating companies, real estate, investment funds, and publicly traded securities. This department is seeking a Senior Tax Advisor / Manager who will report directly to a Tax Director.
Responsibilities
- Conduct tax research, planning, complex excel analysis for major transactions including new entity formation, ownership change transactions (recapitalizations, redemptions, etc.), acquisitions and dispositions
- Serve as a resource of technical knowledge for internal tax return preparers and to other departments requesting assistance on tax and business matters
- Analyze the impact of tax legislation and communicate the potential impact to company management
- Conduct tax research and prepare technical tax memorandums to determine and document tax return filing positions
- Ensure the proper implementation of conclusions reached during tax planning
- Review of operating and trust agreements
- Interact with outside professional advisors
- Represent taxpayers in IRS examinations
