Position: Outside Sales Representative
Location: New Britain, CT
Reports to: Director of Sales
Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and result-driven Territory Sales Manager with demonstrated experience in selling proprietary and commodity chemistries and specialty lubricants. This role offers the opportunity to work with a leading chemical company selling a technically diverse portfolio across various industries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in this field with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets, developing strong customer relationships, and driving growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Leadership:
· Manage all day-to-day sales activities with provided customer list.
· Ensure quick and accurate follow-up to all communications.
· Research and cold call new opportunities within the area of responsibility.
· Enter daily sales calls and opportunities through Sales Force on daily basis.
· Ensure attention to detail providing all necessary information requested by the office.
2. Quotas, Budgets, and Goals:
· Provide an annual budget reflecting growth by account.
· Chart monthly account sales against budget.
· Create a list of target accounts and develop sales strategies to generate new business.
· Have a strong awareness of profit margins.
· Attend technical meetings and tradeshows, some overnight travel is required.
3. Time Management:
· Ability to build a day of sales calls efficiently.
4. Reporting & Documentation:
· Provide daily sales activities by using Sales Force.
· Prepare customer quotations.
· Create and enter leads and opportunities into Sales Force to maintain a Pipeline.
Skill and Knowledge Requirements
· Proven experience in Outside Sales, meeting and exceeding sales quotas.
· Preferably 3-5 years of sales experience in the chemical industry.
· Bachelor of Science Degree in related field or equivalent experience.
· Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Proficiency in using standard business and operational software.
Environmental factors:
· Must be able to pass drug test and background check.
