What are the responsibilities and job description for the AI Agent Engineer position at GigFinder.ai?
Annual Salary $140,000 to $185,000
About the Role
We are seeking an ambitious and highly capable AI Agent Engineer to design, build, and maintain
AI-powered automation systems, agentic workflows, and business process integrations. This is a full-time
remote position for someone who is comfortable working across AI tools, automation platforms, APIs,
databases, webhooks, and modern workflow orchestration systems.
This role is ideal for a builder who understands how to connect systems, automate repeatable work, and
use AI agents to improve speed, accuracy, and operational efficiency. The right candidate will have
hands-on experience with tools such as n8n, Zapier, Make, Pipedream, Workato, Airtable, Google
Workspace, CRMs, webhooks, API integrations, and AI model providers.
We are a rapidly growing, ambitious, and fast-paced group. We are looking for applicants who bring that
same energy: people who move quickly, solve problems, learn new tools, and enjoy building practical
systems that produce real business value.
Full Job Description
The AI Agent Engineer will be responsible for developing intelligent workflows that combine automation
platforms, AI models, business logic, APIs, and data systems. This role will help create internal and
customer-facing automations that reduce manual work, improve decision-making, and support scalable
operations.
The position will involve building and maintaining agent workflows using platforms such as n8n, Zapier,
Make, or similar tools. It will also require direct integration with third-party APIs, AI model providers,
databases, cloud services, and internal applications. The AI Agent Engineer should understand how to
design reliable workflows, handle errors, validate outputs, secure integrations, and document
automation logic clearly.
This is not just a no-code automation role. The ideal candidate should be comfortable combining
low-code tools with custom code, API calls, JavaScript or Python snippets, webhook logic, database
queries, AI prompt workflows, and structured output validation.
Anticipated Duties
The AI Agent Engineer may be responsible for the following duties:
● Design, build, test, and maintain AI-powered workflows using n8n, Zapier, Make, Pipedream, Workato, or
similar automation platforms.
● Create agentic workflows that combine AI models, business rules, APIs, webhooks, databases, and
user-triggered actions.
● Build automations that support internal operations, customer onboarding, job posting workflows, candidate
review, notifications, reporting, data enrichment, and administrative processes.
● Integrate with third-party APIs, including CRMs, email platforms, calendar systems, payment systems, job
boards, applicant tracking tools, databases, and custom web applications.
● Develop webhook-based workflows for receiving, transforming, validating, and routing data between
systems.
● Build AI-assisted automations using OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, or other AI model providers.
● Design prompt workflows, structured outputs, JSON schemas, validation layers, and fallback logic for
AI-generated responses.
● Use Model Context Protocols, MCP servers, tools, connectors, and external context sources where
appropriate to support agent capabilities.
● Create workflows that allow AI agents to retrieve information, call tools, update records, trigger actions, and complete multi-step tasks.
● Write custom JavaScript, Python, SQL, or HTTP request logic inside automation platforms when needed.
● Build and maintain API authentication flows, including API keys, OAuth, bearer tokens, headers, and secure
credential handling.
● Troubleshoot workflow failures, API errors, timeout issues, formatting problems, and inconsistent AI outputs.
● Create logging, alerting, retry logic, and error-handling paths for production workflows.
● Work with databases, spreadsheets, forms, cloud storage, and internal systems to move and normalize
data.
● Collaborate with developers, product leaders, and business stakeholders to understand automation
requirements.
● Translate business processes into clear workflow diagrams, automation logic, and maintainable system
designs.
● Document workflows, triggers, credentials, dependencies, error paths, and maintenance requirements.
● Review existing manual processes and recommend automation opportunities.
● Stay current with AI agent frameworks, automation platforms, MCP development, API trends, and workflow orchestration tools.
Required Qualifications
● 4 years of experience in automation engineering, systems integration, software development, technical
operations, or related technology roles.
● Hands-on experience building workflows in n8n, Zapier, Make, Pipedream, Workato, or similar automation platforms.
● Strong understanding of APIs, webhooks, JSON, HTTP requests, authentication, and data transformation.
● Experience integrating multiple business systems together through automation platforms or custom code.
● Experience working with AI tools, LLM APIs, prompt workflows, or AI-powered automations.
● Ability to write or modify JavaScript, Python, SQL, or similar scripting logic when needed.
● Strong troubleshooting skills for API errors, workflow failures, data formatting issues, and automation
reliability problems.
● Ability to design workflows that are maintainable, testable, and clearly documented.
● Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
● Strong written and verbal communication skills.
● Ability to operate in a fast-paced, ambitious, and rapidly changing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
● Advanced experience with n8n, including custom nodes, HTTP Request nodes, webhook triggers, credential
handling, branching logic, error workflows, and executions.
● Experience with Zapier, Make, Pipedream, Workato, Airtable Automations, HubSpot workflows, Salesforce
automations, or similar platforms.
● Experience with OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, Groq, Perplexity, or other AI/LLM providers.
● Experience with MCP servers, MCP clients, tool calling, function calling, agent frameworks, and external
context integrations.
● Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, AutoGen, Flowise, LangGraph, or similar AI agent
development tools.
● Experience integrating with CRMs, applicant tracking systems, job boards, email systems, calendars, Slack, Teams, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Stripe, Twilio, Airtable, Notion, or similar business platforms.
● Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Supabase, Firebase, or similar databases.
● Experience creating structured AI outputs using JSON schema, validation rules, and deterministic
formatting.
● Familiarity with RAG workflows, embeddings, vector databases, semantic search, and retrieval systems.
● Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or Cloudflare.
● Experience with Git, version control, environment variables, secrets management, and deployment
practices.
● Experience working in SaaS, HR technology, recruiting technology, job platforms, workflow automation, or startup environments.
