What are the responsibilities and job description for the Order Processor position at GigaTech Products?
About the Position
GigaTech Products is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Order Processor to join our team in Irvine. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
This role combines computer-based order processing with hands-on fulfillment, inventory and warehouse operations. Both sides of the position are essential, and the employee must be comfortable moving between them throughout the day based on order volume and operational needs.
The Order Processor is involved throughout the full fulfillment cycle—from reviewing and processing orders in NetSuite through product preparation, pulling, labeling, packing and final shipment. This is not a position where the computer work is completed and handed off to someone else. The person in this role takes ownership of helping ensure each order is completed accurately, professionally and on time.
Our operation is located in a clean, organized and climate-controlled office and fulfillment environment rather than a traditional industrial warehouse.
We typically process approximately 20–30 orders per day. The pace can fluctuate, and orders may sometimes arrive in groups or close to the end-of-day carrier cutoff. The right person must be able to work with urgency, meet deadlines and remain calm and accurate when the workload increases.
Order Processing & Shipment Execution
- Fulfill customer orders accurately in the NetSuite system
- Review part numbers, quantities, inventory availability, shipping instructions and special requirements
- Generate and verify order documentation and product labels
- Recode transceivers and other products by selecting the correct profile and following established procedures
- Process shipments using UPS and FedEx shipping software
- Verify shipping addresses, carrier services, labels and documentation before shipment
- Communicate promptly with internal team members when questions or issues arise
- Prioritize work to ensure orders are completed before daily carrier cutoff times
- Maintain accuracy when orders are time-sensitive or arrive in groups
Fulfillment, Inventory & Warehouse Operations
- Accurately pull the correct products and quantities from inventory
- Verify products against order documentation before packing
- Label individual products and packages accurately
- Pack orders carefully and professionally for shipment
- Accurately stock incoming inventory in the proper locations
- Assist with inventory counts and inventory organization
- Help with labeling, packing, shipping and other fulfillment tasks as workload requires
- Maintain a clean, safe and organized work area
- Serve as a backup for local vendor pickups and package deliveries
- Proactively assist other team members to prevent delays and keep orders moving
What We Are Looking For
- Strong computer aptitude and comfort learning new systems
- Extremely high attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work quickly without sacrificing quality
- Strong sense of urgency and responsibility
- Ability to remain organized and composed under daily deadlines
- Willingness to learn, take notes and continually improve
- Dependable, punctual and consistent
- Positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
- Ability to follow established procedures while also using good judgment
- Comfortable shifting throughout the day between detailed computer work and hands-on fulfillment responsibilities
- Equal willingness to take ownership of both order processing and warehouse-related duties
- Able to communicate clearly and professionally with internal team members
- Proficiency with spoken and written English
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend and reach throughout the workday
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and self automobile insurance
Experience and Education
- Previous experience in order processing, shipping, fulfillment, inventory, electronics, light manufacturing or a related environment is preferred
- Experience with NetSuite, UPS or FedEx shipping software is helpful but not required
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word is preferred
- Candidates with less direct experience will be considered if they demonstrate strong computer skills, reliability, attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly
