We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to help lead the architecture and development of scalable, resilient, and intelligent network management applications. This role will play a critical part in advancing cloud-native software platforms, driving automation across the stack, and integrating AI capabilities that improve operational efficiency and product intelligence. Working closely with engineering and cross-functional partners, this person will influence technical direction, establish architectural standards, and support the delivery of highly reliable distributed systems. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strong platform engineering experience, and a passion for mentoring and elevating engineering teams.
This role is based out of our Santa Clara, CA headquarters, following a hybrid schedule of on-site Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday (3 days per week), with additional on-site presence as business needs require.

What You’ll Do
- Architect and develop scalable, resilient, and high-performance network management system applications for cloud-native environments.
- Drive system design with a focus on reliability, fault tolerance, observability, and long-term maintainability.
- Build services and APIs for distributed platforms running across VMware, Nutanix, OpenStack, AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Design and deploy solutions using Kubernetes, Docker, and modern microservices architectures.
- Integrate AI capabilities and intelligent automation to enhance product functionality and reduce manual operational effort.
- Work with networking protocols and platform integrations to support monitoring, management, and automation use cases.
- Establish architectural standards, lead design reviews, and guide critical technical decisions across the team.
- Mentor engineers, strengthen technical depth, and promote engineering best practices.
- Built 10 years of software engineering experience in enterprise software, platform software, or distributed systems development.
- Demonstrated strong expertise in designing scalable, resilient distributed systems and cloud-native applications.
- Developed deep programming proficiency in Java, Python, and/or Golang.
- Applied hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, microservices, and API development.
- Built strong knowledge of networking fundamentals and network management systems.
- Delivered software platforms on AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
- Driven automation initiatives and integrated AI-enabled capabilities into software platforms.
- Provided technical leadership through architecture, mentoring, and engineering guidance.
- Gained experience with network management systems, network observability, or network automation platforms.
- Worked with AIOps, intelligent assistants, or AI-driven workflow automation.
- Supported telemetry, analytics, and large-scale platform operations.
- You are a strategic technical leader who balances hands-on engineering with long-term architectural thinking.
