What you'll do
You will join our team to lead the development and operations of our medium-voltage (4-35kV) transformer manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on overseeing the design, manufacturing, testing, and quality assurance of transformers. You'll be responsible for ensuring compliance with industry standards, building and managing a high-performing technical team, and collaborating cross-functionally across engineering, operations, and customer service. This is a unique opportunity to shape and scale a high-impact product line from the ground up.
Where you'll work
This role will be based in our Houston office. You must be willing to work in the office full-time, outside of our bi-weekly WFH Fridays.
Responsibilities
Build and lead a team of engineers and technicians for transformer design and production
Oversee end-to-end transformer manufacturing including design, prototyping, testing, and quality assurance
Ensure compliance with ANSI, IEEE, NEMA, and other relevant industry standards
Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient shop environment in accordance with safety protocols
Partner with internal teams (sales, operations, customer service) to align production with customer requirements
Lead continuous improvement initiatives for product quality, cost efficiency, and lead times
Manage project schedules, resource allocation, and delivery commitments
Provide mentorship, training, and technical guidance to team members
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
7+ years of experience in transformer design, testing, and manufacturing
Strong knowledge of medium-voltage transformer standards and testing methodologies
Prior experience leading a technical or production team
Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical projects
Proficient in CAD tools, transformer design software, and manufacturing technologies
Strong communication and leadership skills
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Bonus points
Experience with dry-type or oil-filled transformer systems
Familiarity with UL or CSA certification requirements for transformers
Prior work experience in the energy, data center, or bitcoin mining sectors
Background in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma practices
Passion for emerging energy technologies or blockchain infrastructure
