What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transformer Technician position at Daelim Belefic?
Safely inspect, diagnose, maintain, repair, test and refurbish low-voltage and medium-voltage transformers to ensure optimal operational performance and reliability.
Essential Functions
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and refurbish LV and MV tranformers.
- Perform transformer tear-down, component replacement, and reassembly
- Replace bushings, gaskets, cooling fans, gauges, pressure relief devices, tap changers, and other transformer components.
- Assist with transformer drying, oil processing, vacuum filling, and leak repair.
- Peform mechanical and electrical inspections before shipment.
- Maintain accurate repair documentation and service records.
- Ensure all work complies with Daelim quality and applicable industry standards.
- Field Service Support (requires travel about 25% of time). Troubleshoot, inspections, repairs, commissioning assistance. Complete service reports documenting work performed and testing results.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 years of experience repairing, servicing, or testing electrical transformers.
- Experience with low-voltage and medium-voltage electrical equipment.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot electrical systems
- Strong understanding of electrical safety practices.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel up to 25%
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing
- Ability to work in shop environments and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Able to work around energized electrical equipment
- Able to wear required PPE
Pay: $22.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
