Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging math lessons covering algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, statistics, and discrete math tailored to high school students’ needs
- Develop comprehensive curriculum plans that incorporate current educational standards and innovative teaching methods
- Utilize learning technology tools to enhance instruction and facilitate interactive online classes or tutoring sessions
- Assess student progress regularly through quizzes, assignments, and discussions to identify areas for improvement
- Provide individualized support to students struggling with math concepts, fostering confidence and perseverance
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment conducive to active participation
- Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, curriculum development, and integrating special education strategies when needed
Experience
- Proven teaching experience with teenagers in a classroom or tutoring setting, demonstrating strong classroom management skills
- Familiarity with curriculum development and lesson planning tailored for diverse learning styles and abilities
- Experience using online instruction platforms and learning technology tools to deliver engaging lessons remotely
- Knowledge of advanced mathematics topics such as calculus, differential equations, organic chemistry (as applicable), biochemistry, genetics, microbiology, anatomy knowledge, physiology knowledge, chemical engineering principles, electrical engineering concepts, data structures, machine learning fundamentals, and computer science is a plus
- Ability to work effectively with students from varied backgrounds, including those requiring special education support or early childhood education experience
- Strong computer skills for managing digital resources and virtual classrooms
- Passion for working with children and adolescents to foster their academic growth in a supportive environment
Pay: $25.00 per hour
