Responsibilities
School social workers work with teachers, parents, and school administrators to develop plans and strategies to help students with aggressive behavior, bullying, or frequent absences from school. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate programs to meet the needs of at-risk students and their families
- Provide group counseling programs for students whose needs may include social dysfunction, excessive fear and anxiety, chemical abuse problems, or other serious developmental problems
- Interact proactively with students and/or families to avoid crisis situations
Certifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work
