The custodian will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the Gifford's facility at a level second to none while supporting a safe, organized, and welcoming work environment for employees and visitors. This position will ensure that all production, office, restroom, locker room, and common areas are clean, sanitary, safe and presentable. The custodian will also be responsible for the laundering and distribution of company uniforms to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety Standards.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize all restrooms and locker rooms, ensuring all restroom supplies are stocked and maintained throughout the day.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain all non-production floors, including offices, hallways, stairwells, entryways, tank hallway entrances, locker rooms, and other common areas.
• Clean and sanitize all office areas, including desks (as appropriate), conference rooms, reception areas, and other shared workspaces.
• Clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces, including door handles, handrails, breakroom tables, countertops, light switches, and other frequently touched areas.
• Empty trash and recycling containers throughout the facility and dispose of waste in designated areas.
• Clean and sanitize breakrooms, including floors, tables, countertops, sinks, appliances, and other equipment.
• Pick up litter and maintain the cleanliness of all building exteriors, sidewalks, entrances, and surrounding grounds.
• Launder Gifford's employee uniforms daily, ensuring all required documentation is completed and maintained in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
• Keep all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) stations fully stocked, clean, and organized, and promptly report low inventory or supply needs to the appropriate person for reordering.
• Inspect, refill, and maintain all foot foaming stations to ensure they remain operational and compliant with sanitation requirements.
• Monitor janitorial supply inventory and notify the appropriate person when supplies need to be reordered.
• Properly use, store, and label all cleaning chemicals in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS), company policies, and OSHA requirements.
• Maintain housekeeping standards that support food safety and ensure the facility remains audit-ready at all times.
• Identify and promptly report maintenance issues, unsafe conditions, spills, leaks, or damaged equipment to the appropriate department.
• Respond promptly to cleaning requests, spills, and other housekeeping needs throughout the workday.
• Clean, inspect, and properly store custodial equipment after each use.
• Assist with scheduled deep cleaning projects and other housekeeping duties as assigned.
• Follow all company safety policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety requirements, and sanitation procedures while performing custodial duties.
• Clean restrooms, stock supplies, empty trash, remove cardboard at the warehouse building
• Sweep, mop, vacuum floors during non-office hours
• Promptly report any unsafe conditions, maintenance concerns, or damaged equipment.

Experience/Requirements

• High School Diploma preferred
• Must have reliable transportation
• Lift up to 50lbs., including lifting up to 35lbs. overhead
• Stand and walk for extended periods of time on hard surfaces
• Frequently bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl
• Wear required PPE, including hair nets, beard nets (when applicable), nitrile gloves, and hearing protection
• Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
• Demonstrate dependable attendance and punctuality
• Maintain a positive, professional attitude
• Take pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and professional work environment

Work Enviornment:
