Job Summary
The Gatehouse Attendant serves as the initial point of contact for all residents, Club members, guests, contractors, vendors, and employees entering the private gated community of Gibson Island. This position manages the Island access authorization process while implementing procedures to safeguard Island property, security, and assets. The Gatehouse Attendant will speak daily with people entering and leaving the Island. Excellent communication skills are essential, including the ability to be courteous, pleasant, helpful, and easily understood by all. The Gatehouse Attendant may handle emergency and non-emergency phone calls, and dispatch Gibson Island Police Officers to respond to those calls.
Daily Duties and Responsibilities
· Verify resident, member, and employee vehicle passes upon entry to the Island
· Respond to questions from vehicle operator; provide information when needed
· Register guests, contractors, and vendors visiting the Island to ensure vehicle operator is authorized by residents, members, or administrative staff
· Dispatch Gibson Island Police Officers when needed
Requirements and Qualifications
· Strong customer services skills are needed to respond to residents and all visitors to the Island, such as attentiveness and patience
· Experience working as a Security Gate staff member is a plus
· Required work shift: full-time position will work the evening shift from 2pm to 10pm, Monday through Friday.
· On-time arrival is critical for this position
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential: must have friendly and professional demeanor at all times
· Position requires solid problem solving skills to assess situations, act appropriately, escalate, and follow-up when needed
· Must be able (and comfortable) to handle emergency and/or crisis situations while remaining calm
· Ability to multi-task when activity at Gatehouse increases
· Familiarity and basic use of computer applications such as Word, Excel, and email
·Employees will participate in pre-employment and random drug screening during employment
· Must be at least 18 with high school diploma or equivalent
