The Shipping Manager reports to the Gibson Garage Store General Manager and manages the daily operations of the Gibson Garage Miami shipping department, ensuring efficient and accurate handling of all incoming and outgoing shipments. This role is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, preparing and packing customer-purchased guitars and merchandise to Gibson standards, and sustaining a clean, organized, and safe shipping environment. They will ensure that in-coming shipments are inspected, sorted and stored in the dedicated back stock area as needed. They will need to ensure all invoices are accurate and filed accordingly. You will work with the store team to monitor inventory levels to place orders for both Garage merchandise and shipping/store supplies when needed. The Shipping Manager plays a key part in delivering exceptional customer experience by ensuring goods are shipped securely and on time.


Essential Functions

  • Prepare, pack, and ship customer-purchased guitars using secure, protective, and brand-approved methods.
  • Process and track all incoming and outgoing shipments, including coordinating with carriers and maintaining accurate records.
  • Support daily inventory management, including counting, receiving, logging, and storing product.
  • Maintain shipping department cleanliness, organization, and workflow standards.
  • Verify order accuracy prior to shipment, ensuring correct product, documentation, and packaging.
  • Monitor packaging materials and supplies, restocking as needed.
  • Assist with resolving shipping issues, delays, or discrepancies.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams including Retail, Customer Service, and Warehouse Operations.
  • Support process improvements to maximize efficiency, accuracy, and space utilization.
  • Follow all Gibson shipping, handling, and brand presentation standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Skills/Abilities

  • Bilingual: English/Spanish (preferred but not required)
  • Practical experience working with shipping systems, packaging equipment, and inventory tools.
  • Ability to lift, move, and handle delicate instruments with care and precision.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and prevent shipping errors.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to maintain clean, efficient workspaces.
  • Outstanding time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with shipping software and Microsoft Office.


Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in logistics or supply chain a plus.
  • 3 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, or related work.
  • Experience with packaging fragile or high-value items preferred.


Essential Knowledge

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Understanding of shipping carriers, service levels, and tracking processes.
  • Basic project and workflow management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Travel Requirements

  • This position is primarily onsite at the Gibson Garage Miami and may require minimal irregular travel as operational needs arise.


Physical Demands

  • Typical retail and warehouse-adjacent environment.
  • Must be able to have a flexible schedule and work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to work in a loud environment for 8 hours.
  • Standing and walking required 90% of the time.
  • Lifting required 20% of the time with a max weight of 50lbs.
