The Gibson Garage Assistant Store Manager reports to the Garage General Manager and is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Garage in partnership with the management team and cross-functional partners. Additionally, they will lead and inspire the team to create and consistently maintain a seamless and unforgettable experience for our fans and artists. You should be able to motivate and coach the team to achieve individual sales goals to support the store’s sales and profit objectives. You will ensure daily, weekly and monthly operational functions are being delivered to achieve dedicated target. You will be a partner in staffing decisions (i.e., hiring, training & scheduling), ensuring product standards are maintained. A demonstrated ability to create and maintain an exclusive, exceptional brand experience for all artists and partners visiting the Garage is vital. Juggling multiple priorities while working in a fast-paced and multi-functional environment is required.
Essential Functions
- Inventory management: product and supplies
- Garage calendar: partnership with Garage Events Manager to ensure all Garage programming and events receive dedicated coverage and support
- Oversight of Garage tech operations: weekly meetings, service standards and supply ordering
- Assistance with staff scheduling, timekeeping/payroll and oversight of the shipping department will be required
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Bilingual: English/Spanish (preferred but not required)
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely - both orally and written.
- Ability to manage team in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Outstanding time management skill set with the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks.
- Deep knowledge of music industry with strong existing knowledge of Gibson family of brands.
- General understanding of sound and stage production.
- Experience in executing events in a support role.
- Proven ability to manage inventories of high-value products.
- Proven experience supporting growth through transparency, consistency, and disciplined execution
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Retail Management, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- 1-3 years of retail management experience, preferably in specialty retail, experiential retail, or consumer lifestyle brands.
- Experience of managing a large staff and high-volume retail environment.
- Proven success in delivering sales to target, managing KPIs, and driving operational excellence.
Essential Knowledge
- Strong understanding of retail operations, sales performance drivers, and customer experience principles.
- Knowledge of project management, including cross-functional coordination and execution.
- Familiarity with industry trends in music retail, consumer experiences, and premium product environments.

Travel Requirements
- This position is primarily based at the Gibson Garage in Miami, but may require occasional travel for training, events, leadership meetings, or retail initiatives.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to have a flexible schedule and work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to work in a loud environment for 8 hours.
- Standing and walking required 90% of the time.
- Lifting required 20% of the time with a max weight of 50lbs.
