Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator | Project Manager to support heavy civil construction projects from concept through completion. This role is responsible for developing accurate cost estimates, managing budgets and schedules, and overseeing project execution to ensure successful delivery. The ideal candidate has strong experience in heavy civil construction, excellent cost control and project management skills, and the ability to balance technical, financial, and client-focused responsibilities.
What You’ll Do
Estimating Responsibilities
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project documents to determine quantities, labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor needs.
- Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, proposals, contingencies, and risk assessments.
- Present clear and professional estimate breakdowns to clients and internal stakeholders.
Project Management Responsibilities
- Develop and manage project schedules and timelines to meet deadlines.
- Track project budgets, expenses, and cost deviations; identify potential overruns or savings.
- Oversee procurement activities, including subcontractor and supplier selection and contract negotiation.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and field teams to ensure work complies with plans and specifications.
- Ensure projects meet safety standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
Communication & Client Relations
- Present proposals and estimates to clients and respond to questions clearly and professionally.
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients and provide regular project updates.
- Address client concerns promptly to support strong working relationships.
Additional Responsibilities
- Review project documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions, validate progress, and support field teams.
- Manage change orders and ensure scope revisions are properly documented.
- Perform quality control checks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify and mitigate project risks to avoid delays and budget impacts.
- Provide project status updates and financial reports to senior leadership.
What You Bring
- Strong knowledge of heavy civil construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., HeavyBid) and project management platforms (e.g., Procore).
- Experience with budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and subcontractor oversight.
- Familiarity with Primavera P6 preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and client-facing abilities.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience estimating and managing heavy civil construction projects.
- Demonstrated experience in client-facing project management roles.

Pay: $69,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
