GHSP Hart is looking for a Quality Manager ready to support tha plant operations through the design, implementation and development of quality programs, policies and practices that ensure only quality parts are delivered to GHSP's customers.
About the Role:
The Quality Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring that all manufacturing processes and products meet stringent quality standards and regulatory requirements. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive quality management systems that drive continuous improvement and operational excellence. The Quality Manager leads cross-functional teams to identify quality issues, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions to enhance product reliability and customer satisfaction. They oversee supplier quality assurance activities, including audits and performance evaluations, to ensure that external partners comply with established quality standards. Ultimately, this role ensures that the organization consistently delivers high-quality products while optimizing manufacturing efficiency and minimizing waste.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, or a related field.
- 7-10 years of experience in automobile industry
- Proven expertise in quality systems, including ISO 9000 standards and supplier quality management.
- Strong knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and control plan development.
- Experience conducting supplier audits and managing supplier quality performance.
- Experience with APQP, PFMEA, SPC, Metrology, Blueprints
Experience with IATF 16949
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent professional certification.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and value stream mapping.
- Familiarity with advanced quality tools such as Six Sigma methodologies.
- Previous leadership experience managing quality teams in a manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements specific to the manufacturing industry.
Responsibilities:
Assists internal and external contacts to resolve product and process problems.
Investigates and solves manufacturing-related problems in assigned area using formal problem-solving tools. Analyzes and develops suppliers' products to obtain maximum productivity; reviews performance in operation, and provides suggestions for improvement.
Champions continuous improvement efforts.
Researches, recommends, implements and administers new and/or existing quality assurance processes. Engages in comparative and competitive analysis to ensure utilization of most appropriate and beneficial techniques in each situation, respectively.
Compiles and maintains project records.
Ensures that layouts, control plans, inspection standards, and all relevant project materials are organized, current and available to GHSP users.
Serves as a liaison and coordinates activity of internal and external resources.
Initiates action to overcome obstacles as they are encountered and prevent potential quality problems.
Develops, reviews and approves control plans (Internal).
Reviews process flowcharts, FMEAs, and blueprints to develop control plans. Periodically reviews control plans with an eye to eliminating waste.
Facilitates the design, build and certification of gauges.
Following the procedures outlined in GPS, determines what gauges are required for a particular project to ensure adherence to standards post-launch. Works with the gauge source to ensure that an accurate, repeatable gauge is available on time.
Leads plant QS-9000 efforts.
Provides leadership for QS-9000, TS-16949, and the standardization of GHSP's Quality Systems.
Manages internal PPAPs.
Prepares PPAP packages for internal customers and participates in external PPAP submission to OEM customers.
Monitors and controls costs, timing, and other related aspects of projects.
Develops cost quotations related to specifications, test equipment, and gauge requirements, and communicates information to appropriate parties. Understands and adheres to schedule and budgetary requirements of projects. Reports progress as required.
Plans, supports, and implements total quality programs.
Defines scope, plans, organizes, leads and directs technical work and departmental efforts related to quality engineering activities for new and existing programs. Designs, specifies, and installs quality control sampling systems, testing mechanisms, and equipment. Formulates and/or assists in formulating quality control policies and procedures and in the development of quality standards.
Supports quality Operations.
Assists in the assessment of quality issues on the plant floor by coordinating ongoing capability studies, continuous process improvement efforts, and customer concern and resolution.
Establishes/revises, communicates and maintains customers' quality expectations
Through the creation of quality documents, i.e. control plans, work instructions and visual aids.
