What are the responsibilities and job description for the Non-Production Buyer position at GHSP?

We are currently seeking an Indirect Buyer to join our Purchasing team in Lexington, Ohio.
What You’ll DoThe Non-Production (Indirect) Buyer supports sourcing, supplier management, and purchasing activities for assigned commodities in support of operational objectives, product development, and manufacturing needs. Responsibilities include:
- Purchase indirect materials and services to support plant operations, including MRO supplies, tooling, safety supplies, office materials, and facility-related items.
- Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery and accurate system transactions.
- Work closely with maintenance, operations, engineering, and other departments to support daily plant needs.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels for assigned indirect materials and coordinate replenishment activities.
- Obtain supplier quotations and support cost savings initiatives through competitive sourcing and negotiation.
- Resolve supplier, delivery, invoicing, and receiving issues in a timely manner.
- Monitor supplier performance related to quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier information, and ERP system data.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to purchasing processes, inventory management, and supplier performance.
- May travel to supplier locations and GHSP manufacturing facilities as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2–4 years of purchasing, sourcing, supply chain, or related experience preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred; automotive industry experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
- Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a cross-functional environment.
