Armed Security Officer

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly vigilant and disciplined Armed Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of our premises, personnel, and assets. This dynamic role requires a proactive individual capable of managing access control, conducting surveillance, and responding swiftly to emergencies. As an Armed Security Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining a secure environment through vigilant patrolling, incident management, and adherence to security protocols. Your expertise in firearm handling, conflict de-escalation, and emergency response will be essential in safeguarding our facilities and people.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access points using advanced access control systems to authorize authorized personnel, visitors, and contractors.
• Conduct regular patrols of the premises, including CCTV surveillance to identify suspicious activity or security breaches.
• Respond promptly to incidents, including emergencies such as fire alarms or medical situations, following established emergency response procedures.
• Perform thorough background checks on visitors or vendors as required to ensure compliance with security policies.
• Write detailed incident reports documenting security breaches, accidents, or other noteworthy events with clarity and accuracy.
• Operate security equipment such as CCTV cameras, AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators), Taser devices, and firearms safely and responsibly.
• Manage conflict de-escalation techniques effectively while maintaining professionalism during tense situations.
• Assist law enforcement agencies during investigations or when required by providing relevant information and support.
• Conduct manual handling tasks including heavy lifting when necessary for equipment or supplies related to security operations.
• Ensure compliance with all security regulations and company policies at all times.

Experience

• Proven experience in physical security roles, preferably within law enforcement, military service, or private security sectors.
• Familiarity with surveillance systems such as CCTV and access control systems is essential.
• Training in first aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED operation, and emergency response procedures is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to handle firearm handling responsibly and safely in accordance with legal standards.
• Strong background in incident report writing with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience performing background checks for visitors or staff is a plus.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting safely while maintaining alertness during long shifts.
