This executive will play a pivotal role in translating strategic priorities into coordinated, day-to-day execution across a complex, multi-entity organization.

The COO will partner closely with the CEO and leadership team to ensure operational excellence, financial stewardship, and organizational alignment. This is an ideal opportunity for a pragmatic, systems-oriented leader who thrives in environments where structure, clarity, and accountability are needed to unlock the next stage of impact.

Key Responsibilities of the Chief Operating Officer

  • Lead enterprise-wide financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and oversight of a portfolio and working in close partnership with finance leadership
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve operational efficiency, with a particular focus on scaling lending activities and strengthening core business functions
  • Build and refine internal systems, workflows, and controls to support growth, improve decision-making, and ensure organizational discipline
  • Establish and enhance reporting structures to meet leadership needs and external funder requirements, addressing current gaps in data and performance tracking
  • Serve as a central integrator across teams, improving cross-functional communication, coordination, and accountability
  • Provide leadership and guidance to department heads, clarifying roles, strengthening execution, and fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement
  • Lead organizational change initiatives, introducing structure and process improvements while maintaining flexibility and responsiveness
  • Ensure alignment between programmatic efforts and operational capacity to support increased homeownership outcomes and long-term impact

Qualifications of the Chief Operating Office

  • At least 10 years of experience in operations, ideally within a complex, multi-entity or mission-driven organization
  • Proven track record of executing strategy, improving systems, and driving organizational performance
  • Strong financial acumen with experience overseeing large budgets and multiple business lines
  • Demonstrated success building and optimizing operational infrastructure, including systems and reporting
  • Skilled in leading teams through change and fostering cross-functional collaboration
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive executive-level salary commensurate with experience
  • Comprehensive health coverage, including medical, dental, and vision plans
  • Generous paid time off, including vacation, holidays, and wellness time
  • Retirement plan with employer contribution
  • Flexible work arrangements, including hybrid scheduling where applicable
  • Professional development and executive leadership support
