Summary
Our client, a Fortune 500 medical technology company, is seeking an entry-level Technical Process Engineer to support the manufacturing of advanced materials used in PET molecular imaging applications. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent engineering graduate or early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in a production environment focused on process execution, equipment operation, and manufacturing scale-up. The Process Engineer will work closely with Manufacturing, R&D, Engineering, and Quality teams to support day-to-day production while ensuring safe, efficient, and repeatable manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Execute daily manufacturing processes, including chemical precursor preparation, powder processing, calcination, milling, and sieving.
- Operate laboratory and production equipment in support of pilot-scale and large-volume manufacturing.
- Prepare, process, and monitor material batches while following established manufacturing procedures.
- Complete batch records, process documentation, sample tracking, and production data entry.
- Assist with process troubleshooting, optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, R&D, Engineering, and Quality teams to support process transfers and production readiness.
- Maintain chemical inventory and support process control activities.
- Follow all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) procedures for chemical handling, laboratory operations, and equipment use.
- Support the scale-up of manufacturing processes for commercialization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related technical field.
- Internship, co-op, research, laboratory, or manufacturing experience in a technical environment.
- Ability to safely operate laboratory or manufacturing equipment while following detailed procedures.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent documentation and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, production-focused environment.
- Experience with chemical processing, powder processing, nanomaterials, ceramics, or advanced materials manufacturing is a plus.
- Familiarity with material characterization techniques such as ICP-MS, DSC/TGA, particle size analysis, BET surface area analysis, or porosity testing is preferred.
- Exposure to thermal processing, calcination, milling, or other materials manufacturing processes is highly desirable.
- Previous experience supporting process development, pilot production, or manufacturing scale-up is a plus.
