Gfeller Laurie LLP, is a boutique litigation law firm with a regional presence throughout the Northeast. We are looking for a self motivated experienced litigation Legal Administrative Assistant with 3-5 years experience to assist in organizing data for legal proceedings. Daily tasks can vary, but general functions include:
Responsibilities
- Formatting briefs, pleadings and other legal documents
- E-filing legal documents (state, federal and appellate courts)
- Calendaring dates and managing court reporter services for depositions
- Processing, compiling and maintaining medical authorizations
- Preparing draft correspondence to clients, counsel, courts, etc.
- Editing legal services invoices
- Processing expenses
- Making travel arrangements
- Answering phone calls
- Managing incoming mail
- Copying and filing
- Tracking CLE requirements and attorneys’ fulfillment of same
- Assisting with marketing and client development efforts
Successful candidates must have the following attributes/abilities:
- Familiarity with state and federal court procedures
- Familiarity with preparing applications for admission to state and federal bars
- Experience maintaining calendars for a busy defense litigation practice
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe
- Attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills
- Professional interaction with clients and colleagues
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Proficient typing skills
- Timely compliance with deadlines
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Team player mentality
- Excellent time management
- Availability for overtime work as needed (infrequent)
