The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Civil Defense Litigation Associate with 3–6 years of experience to join our New York team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who is looking to take ownership of their cases, build strong litigation experience, and grow within a dynamic and expanding firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of general civil defense matters from inception through resolution
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and discovery
- Take and defend depositions
- Attend court conferences, hearings, and mediations
- Collaborate with partners and clients to develop case strategy
- Maintain strong client communication and deliver high-quality legal work
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice in New York (required)
- 3–6 years of civil defense litigation experience
- Strong writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Additional state bar admission(s) a plus (CT, NJ, MA, PA, or VT preferred)
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $140,000 – $180,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications
