DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Investigate, evaluate and negotiate automobile claims including non-injury, medical payments, minor bodily, serious bodily injury, UMBI, total loss, and some fatality claims and other automobile casualty claims with claimants, attorneys and medical professionals.

Determine proper policy coverages, investigate, evaluate, negotiate and equitably settle all assigned casualty claims in accordance with company guidelines and best claims practices.

Establish and authorize reserve and claim payments and monitor reserves through the life of the file.

The employee will be expected to handle numerous claims and to maintain a healthy diary system.

Settlement negotiations with claimants, policy holders, and other parties are crucial to the position.

Ability to multitask and address unexpected situations while showing the flexibility to do so.

Maintain high standards of professional conduct while delivering superior customer service.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Requires:
-
4 year college degree plus 2 year casualty experience with bodily injury adjusting experience; or
-
2 years of college and 4 years property and casualty with bodily injury adjusting experience; or
-
6 years of property and casualty with bodily injury adjusting experience.

AIC, CPCU or other insurance certification strongly desired.

The employee is expected to begin the introduction to INS Series within 1 year of hiring date.

Must be able to read, analyze and interpret procedures, regulations, instructions, manuals and other documents as required. Excellent telephone, public relations and oral/written communication skills are

Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule

Must possess basic skills and be proficient or have demonstrated aptitude with computers including experience with Excel, Word, and web based systems.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to operate in a normal office environment with occasional travel necessary to visit office locations, conduct investigations, attend conferences/training classes and meeting.
