Get Set Go Health & Wellness Company, LLC is dedicated to empowering individuals on their recovery journey. Our Adult Peer Support Services (APSS) provide structured, community-based support for adults (18 ) living with mental illness or substance use disorders. We focus on recovery, self-determination, self-advocacy, and enhancing life skills to promote independent and fulfilling lives.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Certified Peer Support Specialist to provide compassionate, one-on-one and group support to individuals in their recovery. This role focuses on building meaningful relationships, fostering resilience, and connecting individuals with essential services.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Provide Peer Support: Offer one-on-one and group support sessions to individuals in the community.
✅ Advocate & Assist: Help individuals complete applications and referral forms to access services.
✅ Monitor & Document: Observe, report, and document behavioral changes and progress in medical records.
✅ Engage & Empower: Use therapeutic communication to foster trust and encourage participation in treatment.
✅ Teach Life Skills: Lead wellness education sessions on problem-solving, anger management, and coping strategies.
✅ Promote Continuity of Care: Collaborate with treatment providers to ensure individuals receive the services they need.
✅ Lead Support Groups: Facilitate peer-led discussions to provide encouragement and shared experiences.
Qualifications & Requirements
✔ Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
✔ Certification: Must have successfully completed a Certified Peer Support Training Program (5-day training with written & verbal exams).
✔ Lived Experience: Must self-identify as someone with lived experience of mental illness or recovery from substance use disorder.
✔ Understanding of Recovery: Strong knowledge of the recovery process and ability to support others on their journey.
