What are the responsibilities and job description for the Materials Analyst position at Gestamp?
JOB SUMMARY
Support all inventory activities. Support and expand the goals and objectives of the Materials Department. Gather data and work with all departments to lead effective response to abnormal conditions (Cycle Count Discrepancies, lead problem-solving activities to obtain desired KPI Goals, while supporting continuous improvement efforts in the plant.) Support SAP processes and data integrity and how it relates to daily operations, material flow, and inventory accuracy.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Correct material issues as they arise, through Cycle Counting and Inventory Adjustments, including finding root cause for problem and reporting them to the appropriate contact for review.
- Report discrepancies to Assistant Materials Manager for review.
- Assist production with lineside reconciliation.
- Manage inventory both physically and in SAP
- Analyze inventory concerns for remedial action
- Weekend and after-hours availability, alternating with other team member(s), to address issues that may arise
- Run and distribute daily/weekly/monthly reports/KPIs to production/management teams, as requirements dictate.
- Audit and document daily production processes, for accuracy, and consistency, how it effects material flow, and inventory management, and report data accordingly.
- Work with production and shop floor to create solutions for lineside losses, organization, both physically and systematically.
- Work with all operations to achieve continuous improvement in a holistic approach.
- Other duties as assigned or modified for business needs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. High School diploma or GED equivalent required
2. Bachelor’s degree preferred
3. Proficiency in SAP or equivalent systems
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. High level of computer literacy (SAP, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
2. Understanding of computer systems, applications and operating systems
3. Excellent interpersonal & organizational skills
4. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
5. Good verbal and written communication skills
6. Ability to manage priorities
7. Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

4. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time
5. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
6. The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
7. The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so other will understand
8. The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
