What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Gestamp?
JOB SUMMARY
Performs maintenance functions to include stamping presses, coil feeding lines, resistance welding
Machines, assembly equipment, as well as building maintenance, HVAC, and compressed air systems.
In accordance with work instructions from maintenance manager in meeting departmental and plant requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for press and/ or other equipment repairs to include machining, welding, or electrical requirements.
2. Change, lubricate or grease shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of equipment in accordance with the preventative maintenance program.
3. Perform repairs of building and/ or property as required.
4. Maintain quality system requirements in area of responsibility.
5. Perform job duties in accordance with MIOSHA rules and regulations.
6. Maintain good housekeeping practices in accordance with plant requirements.
7. Required to use basic tool room machines; i.e. lathe, surface grinders, drill press or other related hand or power tools.
8. Required to complete testing and obtain permit to operate forklift and aerial work platform to company safety requirements.
9. Perform additional related duties as requested by his/ her supervisor.
10. Assist other classifications in accordance with work and job duty requirements.
11. Any other duties as deemed necessary or appropriate.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. High School Diploma, G.E.D or 3 years previous field related experience.
2. Minimum 5 years of Automotive related experience
3. Technical Training in related field
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Basic knowledge of electricity
2. Knowledge of compressed air and hydraulic systems
3. Knowledge of stamping press maintenance
4. Knowledge of robotic systems
5. Basic knowledge of building construction and maintenance
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION
1. Good vision required.
2. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear
3. Employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
4. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time
5. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
6. The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
7. The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so other will understand
8. The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.55 - $29.75 per hour
