Job Summary
Provide support to Human Resources department in areas of administrative activities including reporting and filing. This position will also assist in areas of payroll, recruiting, benefits, training and additional special projects.
Responsibilities
- Source and interview hourly candidates
- Conduct orientations and plant tours.
- Assist with day to day operations of the HR functions and duties
- Filing confidential information in personnel records.
- Scheduling training, meetings, interviews etc.
- Make copies of benefit information, policy manuals and training materials – keep all paperwork current & stocked.
- Must be able to work well in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint &Excel)
- Strong communication - must be able to approach people tactfully.
- Multitasked – stop & start projects by prioritizing level of importance.
- Strong Organizational skills to assist with everyday functions in HR.
- Assist in the onboarding process by assisting new associates with paperwork and enrolling them into a time clock system.
- Present and review new hire paperwork for full time associates & explain what is needed.
- Coordinate functions with the activity committee – i.e. picnics, dinners & contest.
- Comfortable with being in an industrial setting and being on the manufacturing floor to hang postings and follow up with associates on a daily basis along with escorting visitors within the building.
- Assist with recruiting efforts such as resume logs, interview logs, rejection letters etc.
- Assist in reviewing time clock entries for accuracy along with running reports to check for accuracy to assist with payroll functions.
- Assist with training activities and update training logs and track training hours.
- Data entry into a LMS system.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Understand and comply with all OSHA, safety and PPE requirements;
- Additional duties as assigned.
Skills
- Proven experience as an HR assistant, staff assistant or relevant human resources/administrative position
- Fast computer typing skills (MS Office, in particular)
- Hands-on experience with an HRIS or HRMS
- Familiarity with ATS software and resume databases
- Basic knowledge of labor laws
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong communications skills
- Degree in Human Resources or related field
Education and Experience
- High School diploma and any combination of degree/or pursuit of degree along with 1 year HR or relative business experience
- Manufacturing experience preferred
- Previous background with working in fast paced office environment and handling confidential information
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
