Greenhouse Production-Stock Associate

Gertens Family of Businesses is seeking a SEASONAL Stock Associate to join the Distribution Center Greenhouse team.  In this position you will ensure the full carts of product are called to the store from the greenhouse, following a checklist and standard procedure.  You will also ensure that carts are transferred to the store are loaded correctly and parked in the correct display location.   If you have an eye for detail and a passion for flowers, plants, and all things green – we want to hear from you today!

Candidates need to be able to work M-F 8:00a-5:00p during the month of April, 50-60 hour weeks May-Mid June (8-10 hr days, 6 days a week) early Ams, Eve shifts, OT. Candidates need to start ASAP. This season runs until mid June.

 What will I do as a Greenhouse Stock Associate?

• Inspect annuals displays for units remaining/quality and completes replenishment checklist per required timeline
• Call for product from the Distribution Center based on replenishment checklist
• Coordinate with Retail Stock Associates to ensure carts are parked in the correct display locations
• Replenish stock on the sales floor as needed.
• Pull defective or expired items from shelves.
• Pack up defective items or overstock and arrange for the return to the greenhouse.
• Answer customer and sales associate questions about available items in stock.
• Place special orders from the Greenhouse Distribution Center for customers when necessary.
• Use inventory control software to log information.
• Assist managers and associates in preventing theft and maintaining proper inventory.
• Pack up defective items or overstock and arrange for the return shipment.
• Observe proper safety procedures in the stockroom and the Greenhouse, particularly when lifting and moving heavy items.
• Report issues or problems to inventory manager or store manager.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Exhibits familiarity with the range of a company’s products.
• Works well with a team.
• Communicates clearly and effectively.
• Demonstrates ability to read and interpret internal operations paperwork.
• Exhibits familiarity with proper safety procedures in the stockroom.
• Microsoft Excel Experience Preferred.
   
   
  Physical Requirements:
• Constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, and standing. 
• Involves standing for at least two consecutive hours. 
• Involves lifting 50 pounds. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. 
• Vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. 
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
