Gertens Family of Businesses is seeking a SEASONAL Distribution Center Associate to join the Greenhouse Production team. In this position you will play a key role in supporting the greenhouse distribution center by loading and unloading inventory and moving product between the distribution center and retail locations. You will also help ensure products are handled safely, organized properly, and delivered efficiently. Candidates need to be able to work M-F 8:00a-5:00p during the month of April, 50-60 hour weeks May-Mid June (8-10 hr days, 6 days a week) early AMs, evening shifts, and OT. Candidates need to start ASAP. This season runs until mid June.

What will I do as a Distribution Center Associate?
• Load and unload products within the distribution center and store them in designated locations
• Perform order reconciliation using scanning tools
• Move products between the greenhouse production area, distribution center, and retail locations
• Assist with plant care, including watering as needed
• Maintain cleanliness of carts, work areas, and overall workspace
• Follow proper safety procedures when handling and transporting products
• Ensure accurate and efficient movement of inventory
• Support team members and assist with additional tasks as assigned
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Exhibits familiarity with the range of a company’s products preferred.
- Works well with a team.
- Communicates clearly and effectively.
- Demonstrates ability to read and interpret internal operations paperwork.
- Exhibits familiarity with proper safety procedures in a distribution environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, and standing.
- Involves standing for at least two consecutive hours.
- Involves lifting at least 50-75 lbs . May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
- Vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
