SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
The Manager, SCADA will lead the SCADA Team that services projects from construction through operations. This role ensures effective implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the Company’s SCADA systems and will be partnering with multiple departments within the business including Project Delivery, Operations, IT, and NERC Compliance.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Lead the SCADA Team for the Company.
- Design, develop, modify, and evaluate standards, specifications, systems, processes, or facilities to support company objectives as a subject matter expert
- Support construction projects with technical coordination of critical path work with respects to SCADA buildout, commissioning, and third-party communications
- Work closely with the construction, operations, IT, and asset management teams to assure site communication diagrams are accurate and saved for record
- Talk through conceptual communication designs with third-party off takers
- Lead discussions with internal groups on topics such as ICCP communications, RTO/ISO market data, facility operational data, and control systems for renewable projects
- Prioritize work between department requests to best support the company as a whole
- Partner with SMEs and cross-functional teams, as needed, to ensure that business decisions are being made with all stakeholders being considered
- Self-manage workload and priorities to align with company initiatives and project goals
- Support troubleshooting of communication systems during facility commissioning and operations
- Document processes and procedures relating to your work
- Coordinate action items with SCADA vendors for new construction contracts and ongoing operational service agreements
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
- Other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU BRING TO THIS ROLE
- A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 5 years of experience with communication systems surrounding renewable energy projects and/or T&D industry
- Ability to lead, mentor and develop SCADA engineers
- Advanced level knowledge of communication systems and standard control methodologies commonly used within the power generation industry
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and Procore.
- Analytical minded; Detail-oriented; Well-organized; multi-tasker
- Good business sense for interfacing with external partners and developing contract language
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills involving the ability to work cross-functionally to understand requirements, present alternatives, and recommendations
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Ability to provide timely assessments with limited information and/or assumptions
- Ability to understand technical documentation related to renewable energy projects such as market requirements, interconnection agreements, facilities studies, and NERC compliance documentation
- Ability to explain communication system ideas and concepts to external stakeholders
- Ability & Willingness to be on call nights/weekends/holidays on a rotating schedule
Pay Range for the posted level: $ 140,000-170,000.00
