About the Position:
- Geronimo Power is seeking an Electrical Engineer with experience in communications troubleshooting, SCADA systems, and working with multiple teams across the US. The Electrical Engineer will primarily provide technical support for projects in late-stage development, construction and operations. Tasks will be producing conceptual designs, discussions with 3rd party off takers, design coordination and review for construction projects, and contract negotiations on the front end as well as operational maintenance, feature additions from lessons learned and developing end of life replacement strategies.
What you will be doing:
- Design, develop, modify, and evaluate standards, specifications, systems, processes, or facilities to support company objectives as a subject matter expert
- Support construction projects with technical coordination of critical path work
- Work closely with the construction, operations, IT, and asset management teams to ensure site communication diagrams are accurate and saved for record
- Talk through conceptual communication designs with 3rd party off takers
- Contribute to discussions with internal groups on topics such as ICCP communications, RTO/ISO market data, facility operational data, and control systems for renewable projects
- Partner with SMEs and cross-functional teams, as needed, to ensure that business decisions are being made with all stakeholders being considered
- Self-manage workload and priorities to align with company initiatives and project goals
- Support 3rd party coordination during commissioning of new facilities and any needed troubleshooting
- Support 3rd party coordination during operational life of existing facilities and any needed troubleshooting
- Document processes and procedures relating to your work
- Other duties as assigned
What you bring to this role:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 5 years of experience with communication systems surrounding renewable energy projects
- Advanced level knowledge of communication systems commonly used within the power generation industry.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Teams; Sharepoint)
- Experience working with SEL RTAC preferred
- Experience working with Ignition by Inductive Automation
- Analytical minded; Detail-oriented; Well-organized; multi-tasker
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills involving the ability to work cross-functionally to understand requirements, present alternatives, and recommendations
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and manage multiple concurrent projects
- Ability to understand technical documentation related to renewable energy projects such as market requirements, interconnection agreements, facilities studies
- Ability to explain communication system ideas and concepts to external stakeholders
Strong preference may be given to candidates with the following:
- Professional Engineer (PE) Registration
- SCADA design and/or SCADA maintenance experience
Pay Range for the posted level: $ 85,000-140,000.00
