Manager Performance Assessment (Full-time)
Reports to: Bloomington, MN
Duties:
Lead the development and execution of programs to analyze operational data from the company’s renewable energy facilities, supporting both field operations and asset management teams to ensure reliable and efficient energy services. Oversee the data science team’s automated data processing systems, supervising a small team of data analysts in evaluating the quality and accuracy of data collected from wind turbines and solar energy assets. Identify sources of production loss and recommend operational improvements; enhance and expand the company’s analytics tools to support the growth of its renewable energy portfolio. Collaborate with the construction team to ensure a smooth transition of renewable energy projects from construction to operations. Calculate and report on internal and external key performance indicators (KPIs); develop, maintain, and manage models for tracking lost energy; and estimate future production using operational performance data. Diagnose technical issues in collaboration with engineering teams and equipment vendors, ensuring timely and effective resolution. Stay current with industry codes, standards, and best practices related to resource assessment and energy production modeling. Manage multiple complex renewable energy projects simultaneously; oversee implementation and maintenance of large-scale codebases; and effectively communicate complex technical findings to non-technical stakeholders. Collect and organize data on operational issues or processes; consult with relevant personnel to confirm system performance; and develop recommendations and alternative solutions based on data analysis.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Energy Systems or Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or closely related field (or foreign degree equivalent) and at least 5 years of experience managing data-driven performance assessment and analytics for renewable energy systems, with a focus on optimizing operational efficiency, diagnosing technical issues, and supporting the growth of wind and solar energy portfolios; At least 5 years of experience with energy system modeling, analysis, and process design, with a focus on solar energy storage facility design, operations, and management; At least 5 years of experience with energy system performance monitoring and modelling using programming languages; At least 5 years of experience using programming languages and analytical tools to support energy-based system analysis, renewable energy generation and storage system development; At least 5 years of experience applying engineering principles related to energy system process design, energy generation and conversion fundamentals, solar energy technologies, industry-standard modeling tools for resource assessment and energy production forecasting; At least 5 years of experience working with operational energy data to monitor and assess facility performance, enhance analytics platforms supporting renewable energy portfolio expansion, and design, develop, and manage lost energy tracking models that inform long-term sustainability strategies.
Telecommuting permissible from home office anywhere in the U.S.
10% domestic travel required to visit headquarters and attend industry events.
Salary: $150,000/year – $174,000/year
