This position is responsible for ensuring that manufacturing operations run smoothly, efficiently, and safely while meeting quality standards. The ideal candidate will lead a team of production staff, implement best practices, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
Our client, a leading biopharmaceutical company that develops and manufactures biologically sourced Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients, is looking for a Manufacturing Manager to join their growing team. The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for providing leadership to key process operators to maintain smooth operation at the front and back end of production. The Manufacturing Manager must work closely with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and other Manufacturing personnel to foster a team environment. The role of the Manufacturing Manager is to aid in the development of processing metrics and improvement projects, and to provide support to quality systems as appropriate.
Duties
- Oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure production targets are met.
- Develop and implement production schedules and workflows to optimize efficiency.
- Monitor production processes and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality standards.
- Lead, train, and mentor production staff to foster a high-performance culture.
- Collaborate with other departments such as Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, and Engineering to ensure seamless operations.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Ensure readiness prior to startup of each batch
- Ensure smooth transitions of each batch to quality/sales
- Identify and execute process improvement initiatives
- Develop data analysis and tools to identify weak spots in production
- Interface with quality to aid in the development of CAPAs, completion of investigations etc.
- Provide technical support to production and maintenance personnel.
Skills
- Associate’s Degree or above in Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Reliability) or related discipline
- 2 - 5 years of leadership experience in a GMP space
