Description
Under direction of the Youth Activities Manager, the Summer Camp Coordinator is responsible for the overall operations of the summer camp programs at the Germantown Athletic Club. The club offers a variety of offerings for children ages 5-14 years of age with 15 staff members functioning as camp counselors. Key areas of responsibility include daily programming, implementing daily routines, behavior management and parent communications. In addition to communicating purchasing/maintenance/program needs with the Youth Activities Manager.
CAMP DATES: May 26 - July 31, 2026
All staff must be able to attend mandatory All Staff Training held May 18 - May 21, 2026
SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, 20 to 30 hours per week, 6:45 am-12:30 pm or 12:30 pm-6:15 pm

Must be reliable, punctual and able to follow directions. Requires good customer service skills and ability to lead and teach a variety of recreation activities.
Requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age.
2 years experience implementing/supervising programming for youth preferably in a day camp setting and basic knowledge of summer camp formats
Must have 3 years working with children
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely through email, group messaging and orally
Physical Ability To Perform Essential Job Duties
CPR/First Aid/AED certification or ability to obtain certification

Examples Of Duties
- Day-to-Day customer service duties (daily program prep, staff supervision, behavior calls, program needs, etc.)
- Assisting in the annual staff training week and shadow to ensure Club policies and procedures are maintained daily.
- Communicate with counselors regarding daily/weekly programming, availability, scheduling, parent feedback, concerns involving the club, etc.
- Administer medication to participants as needed
- Managing of Youth Activities Waivers, medication forms, attendance and general record keeping
- Ensure all participant groups have appropriate counselors/subs scheduled
- Reporting: daily group numbers, changes to staffing, injuries/accidents etc.
- Assist Youth Activities Coordinator in holding annual trainings
- Assist Youth Activities Coordinator in the planning and organizing of special events for the summer camp program and for staff weekly.
- Report all maintenance/purchasing needs to Youth Activities Coordinator in a timely manner
- Filling in for Counselor/leads in the absence of subs
- Lead and plan Kids Night Out the second Saturday of June and July
- Other duties as assigned
