What are the responsibilities and job description for the Export Coordinator position at German American Chambers of Commerce?
A certified Customs House Broker with expertise in all modes of transportation, including rail, sea, air, and truck, is looking for an experienced Export Coordinator to join their international team.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Provide pricing quotations and accept orders for booking export shipments.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of export documentation.
- Perform AES filings and manage online bookings with shipping lines.
- Adhere to and develop processes and procedures to maintain governmental compliance.
- Coordinate shipping, delivery, and customs processes with international agents, shipping lines, and carriers for both air and ocean freight.
- Track outbound shipments with ocean and air freight carriers and communicate status updates to clients.
- Maintain a deep understanding of FCL, LTL, TL, and air carrier delivery processes.
- Experience with Indirect Air Carrier program / STA Number.
- Ensure accurate and timely distribution of documentation.
- Arrange timely cargo pickups and deliveries.
- Negotiate freight rates with common carriers and warehouses.
- Expertise with NVOCC operations and FMC filings (MBL/HBL).
- Establish best practices and perform duties in accordance with internal and client-established KPIs.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in export customer service with a Freight Forwarder.
- Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented.
- Experienced in a high-energy, multitasking environment.
- Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
