Duties
- Prepare dough, sauces, toppings, and other ingredients following established recipes and menu specifications
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, slicers, and grills safely and effectively
- Cook pizzas to perfection using various techniques including grilling, braising, poaching, and baking
- Maintain strict food safety and sanitizing procedures to ensure a clean and safe work environment
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting new pizza recipes or modifications based on customer preferences
- Monitor food quality during production to ensure consistency and presentation standards are met
- Collaborate with team members to manage high-volume production during busy hours while maintaining efficiency and accuracy
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation within a restaurant or food industry setting, preferably with fine dining or high-volume production experience
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in cooking techniques such as grilling, braising, poaching, and meal preparation
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures in commercial kitchens
- Experience operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Ability to follow recipes precisely while maintaining flexibility for special requests or modifications
- Excellent food handling skills with a focus on quality control and presentation standards
- Prior catering or restaurant experience is highly desirable for this energetic role
