Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Pharmacist role based in Glen Burnie, MD. The Pharmacist will review and verify medication orders for accuracy, appropriateness, and potential interactions, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Daily responsibilities include preparing and dispensing medications, checking technician-prepared prescriptions. Additional duties include collaborating with prescribers and healthcare teams to resolve medication-related issues, participating in quality assurance activities, managing inventory and controlled substances, and supporting the safe, efficient operation of the pharmacy.
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Pharmacist license in the state of Maryland (or eligibility to obtain licensure before start date.
- Proficiency in prescription verification, medication dispensing, and medication therapy review in a high-accuracy environment.
- Solid knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, dosing, and clinical guidelines relevant to community and/or long-term care populations.
- Strong communication skills for counseling patients, collaborating with prescribers, and guiding pharmacy support staff.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, time management, and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting.
- Commitment to regulatory compliance, patient safety, and ethical pharmaceutical practice, including proper handling of controlled substances.
- Previous experience in long-term care, institutional, or community pharmacy is preferred but not required.
