Your Qualifications:
- Two- or four-year degree in Engineering, Quality, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experienceMinimum 3–5 years of experience in steel manufacturing Minimum 5 years of Quality experience, including customer specifications, testing requirements, and compliance standardsAbility to develop and manage a team.Strong understanding of steel manufacturing processes (melting, casting, rolling, finishing, or related operations)Knowledge of steel grades, product applications, and end-use requirementsExperience with lab equipment, testing processes, and troubleshooting quality-related issuesProven experience with failure analysis and leading corrective actionsProficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis for trend reportingStrong communication skills, including the ability to present data and findings to leadership
Your Purpose:
The Quality Lab Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the standardization, documentation, and continuous improvement of quality-related processes. This role supports adherence to customer specifications, drives failure analysis and corrective actions, and ensures consistent execution of quality standards across operations. This position will report directly to the Quality Manager and work closely with Department Superintendents, the Quality team, and cross-functional partners.

- Develop, document, and maintain quality-related standard operating procedures, including process control standards, testing procedures, and job aidsEnsure compliance with customer specifications, internal standards, and testing requirementsPerform routine and unscheduled audits of processes and workforce adherence to quality standardsLead and support failure analysis investigations and corrective action implementation (QIS methodology)Track and analyze quality performance metrics, identify trends, and communicate findings to leadershipMaintain and manage training matrices to ensure proper training on quality standards and proceduresCoach operators, technicians, and supervisors on quality expectations, testing methods, and continuous improvement initiativesCollaborate with operations, maintenance, and laboratory teams to improve product quality and process consistencySupport initiatives related to quality improvement, cost control, safety, and environmental complianceAssist in sustaining and improving business system standards
