- Supportive, team-oriented culture
- Operation of mobile equipment, handling materials safely, and loading appropriate products in designated areas.
- Complete Gerdau safety training, forklift certification training and electric overhead crane training.
- Transfer stacked and bundled materials from end of rolling mill finishing operations to stock area:
- Store materials according to the product, grade, size, and heat number.
- Rotate warehouse stock materials to make room for new product.
- Communicate material locations for inventory accuracy.
- Observe items for conformity regarding product size, type, and length. Looks for visible quality issues and reports issues to the Quality department.
- Assist in physical inventory counts and daily inventory spot checks.
- Ensure daily preventative maintenance is performed on vehicles and mobile equipment, which may include fueling, cleaning, and checking/adding fluids as needed.
- Assist in the training of coworkers as needed.
- Experience with mobile or heavy equipment operation
- Flexibility to work a 12-hour rotating schedule with days, nights, and two consecutive weekends a month. (Dupont 2,3,2)
- Willingness to learn and be self motivated
- Successful completion of our entrance exam
