ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES):
- Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Maintain records to ensure records remain up to date.
- Processing incoming electronic faxes.
- Maintains highest level of professionalism and personal ethics. Ensures confidentiality of patient information and staff information.
- Processes, tracks, and bills request for Release of Information according to established procedures.
- Processes, tracks chart audit requests.
- Enter procedures done by outside entities into patient’s record.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA regulations.
- Knowledge of the operational aspects of a Medical Records Department.
- Good written and verbal communication skills required.
- Able to interact with people easily (clients, insurance companies, providers, office staff, etc.), must put the client's needs ahead of own.
- Accurately type 40-45 wpm.
- Computer literacy
- Medical Terminology a plus.
- Experience with Ochin Epic is a plus.
