Position Summary
GeoSurfaces, a TenCate company, is seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL Truck Driver to join our team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
This position is responsible for transporting equipment and materials to and from job sites across Louisiana and Arkansas while ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and company transportation procedures. The role may require occasional overnight stays in Arkansas.
This is a full-time position, typically working Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Transport equipment and materials safely to and from job sites across Louisiana and Arkansas
- Assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment as needed
- Follow proper loading protocols, using chains and binders to secure cargo and re-check load stability throughout trips
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including brakes, steering, lights, mirrors, and other safety equipment
- Inspect trailers before and after loading, including air lines and jack positions
- Visit weigh stations as required to ensure loads meet state safety regulations and make adjustments when necessary
- Adhere to all traffic safety regulations and company transportation policies
- Exercise caution in hazardous driving conditions and report unsafe vehicle or road conditions to supervisors
- Use GPS and communication tools to stay informed of route information and notify supervisors of delays or route changes
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation in compliance with DOT regulations
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid CDL license
- Minimum of one (1) year of CDL driving experience
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
Preferred
- Two (2) or more years of CDL driving experience
- CDL endorsement for air brakes preferred
Work Environment
This role involves operating commercial vehicles and working outdoors at job sites, warehouses, and transportation routes. Drivers must be comfortable working in varying weather conditions and traveling across regional job sites.
