As an Injection Molding Process Technician at Geospace, you'll play a crucial role in producing high-quality plastic parts for our diverse product lines. This position requires a strong understanding of injection molding principles, a commitment to safety, and a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency.
Scope:
The position is accountable for making molded plastic parts for use internally in all product lines.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining robust injection molding processes providing quality parts.
- Assist with facility manufacturing engineering, including but not limited to, robotics, dryer, thermolators, loaders, etc. for the efficient production of plastic parts on the molding floor
- Collaborate on new project reviews for proper manufacturing setup that allow for efficient processes and ergonomics for our workforce.
- Troubleshoot molding process issues (flash, short-shots, sinks, splay, etc)
- Manage mold startups and shutdowns, including monitoring, approvals, and ensuring adherence to established procedures.
- Ensure timely setup of molds and workstations based upon production schedule.
- Provides technical guidance on the most robust methods of plastics processing, robotics, conveying and process controls
- Ensure manufacturing cycles align with company standards and implement improvements as necessary.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in injection molding processing
- Ability to read and understand instructions provided in English.
- Specific vision abilities required to distinguish colors for quality control, read drawings and work on computers and molding equipment.
- Working knowledge of types of thermoplastics and injection molds
- Proficiency in setting up and optimizing robust molding processes.
- Basic computer literacy for production software
- Good interpersonal skills both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and handle projects to completion
- Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Supervision:
Given: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Received: Takes direction from a Supervisor, Lead or Sr. Mold Tech.
Working Conditions & Safety Concerns:
Work in a well-lit manufacturing environment, primarily at an injection molding machine. The role involves using rubberized safety gloves to prevent burns and can be performed while sitting or standing. Some tasks require interacting with machinery containing moving parts, for which safety protocols are strictly followed.
Salary : $18 - $22
