The Coordinator of Campus Engagement & Residential Experience is a live-in professional staff member responsible for cultivating student belonging, leadership development, and campus-wide engagement. This role serves as the primary advisor to the Student Government Association and supports the development of a vibrant co-curricular environment for both residential and commuter students.
Working collaboratively with the Director and Assistant Director of Campus Life, the Coordinator advances engagement initiatives, supports residential community development, and maintains a visible and approachable presence within the campus community.
Essential Functions:
Student Engagement & Programming
- Design and implement campus-wide engagement initiatives that serve both residential and commuter students.
- Coordinate signature events, traditions, and leadership experiences.
- Support development and recognition of student organizations.
- Collaborate with campus partners to create high-impact co-curricular experiences.
- Utilize engagement tracking platforms to monitor participation and identify gaps in involvement.
- Serve as primary advisor to the Campus Activities Board.
- Design and coordinate engagement initiatives that foster belonging and support retention among key student populations, including first-generation students, VAMOS participants, and other student groups, with a focus on sustained engagement beyond the first year.
Student Government & Leadership Development
- Serve as primary advisor to the Student Government Association.
- Support SGA executive board development and leadership training.
- Guide constitutional processes, elections, and governance practices.
- Collaborate with Assistant Director to ensure fiscal accountability of SGA funds.
- Facilitate leadership workshops and retreats for student leaders.
Residential Community Engagement (Live-In)
- Maintain a visible and accessible presence within the residential community.
- Support community-building initiatives in collaboration with Graduate Assistant Hall Directors.
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide student support as needed.
- Promote a residential environment aligned with community standards and institutional values.

Salary : $55,000 - $70,000
