Job Summary
The Construction Crew Member is to assist in the construction, renovation, and maintenance of commercial and industrial projects. This role involves supporting skilled laborers, ensuring that work follows safety regulations, project plans, and quality standards. The ideal candidate is hands on, physically fit, reliable, dedicated, and able to work effectively as part of a team in outdoor and onsite environments.
Key Responsibilities
Site Preparation – Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment while ensuring proper storage. Assist with site preparation, including cleaning, leveling, organizing materials, and moving equipment.
Construct, refurbish, or redevelop properties – Participate in the assembly and installation of structures, frameworks, and finishing elements.
o Assisting with construction, operating heavy machinery, and adhering to safety and building code regulations.
o Involved in tasks such as excavation, leveling, concrete finishing, structural erection, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and inspecting equipment or structural issues.
o Construction buildouts interior and exterior maintenance.
Tools/Equipment – Operate basic construction tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
Safety Standards – Monitor and maintain safety standards onsite, including wearing protective gear and reporting unsafe conditions.
Communication – Communicate effectively and able to follow directions accurately and safely.
Quality – Support quality control by inspecting work for accuracy and completeness. Report any hazards, equipment issues, or incidents to management.
Handle any other duties as assigned that are required by the business.
Required Skills and Competencies
Good physical stamina and strength to handle prolonged standing, lifting, and manual tasks.
Basic knowledge of construction tools and machinery.
Strong communication skills, work ethic, reliability, and ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to read and understand simple construction plans and safety guidelines.
Ability to follow directions accurately and safely and to pay attention to detail with the willingness to learn new skills.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for on-the-job travel.
Prior construction or labor experience is a plus.
Knowledge of construction safety protocols and willingness to follow OSHA standards.
Ability to pass background checks and random drug tests.
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 45.0 – 55.0 per week
