Job Description
The Crew Leader is to assist in leading the construction, renovation, and maintenance of commercial and industrial projects. This role is a working crew leader guiding team members onsite ensuring projects are completed efficiently, following safety regulations, and to quality standards. The ideal candidate is organized, hands on, physically fit, reliable, dedicated, and able to lead and work effectively as part of a team in outdoor and onsite environments.
Key Responsibilities
Site Preparation – Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment while ensuring proper storage. Assist with site preparation, including cleaning, leveling, organizing materials, and moving equipment.
Construct, refurbish, or redevelop properties – Participate in the assembly and installation of structures, frameworks, and finishing elements.
o Assisting with construction, operating heavy machinery, and adhering to safety and building code regulations.
o Involved in tasks such as excavation, leveling, concrete finishing, structural erection, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and inspecting equipment or structural issues.
o Construction buildouts interior and exterior maintenance.
Tools/Equipment – Operate construction tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
Training and Mentorship – Provide hands-on instruction, mini classes, or on-the-job coaching to improve skills and performance. Help recruit, train, and retain quality employees.
Safety Standards – Monitor and maintain safety standards onsite, including wearing protective gear and reporting unsafe conditions.
Communication – Communicate effectively and create an encouraging, respectful atmosphere that encourages questions and motivates employees to perform. Provide daily/weekly updates, explain project goals, and ensure clear, respectful communication with all team members.
Quality – Support quality control by inspecting work for accuracy and completeness. Report any hazards, equipment issues, or incidents to management. Enforce OSHA and site-specific safety protocols, ensuring 100% safety for all employees.
Handle any other duties as assigned that are required by the business.
Required Skills and Competencies
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently as a crew lead following instructions without constant supervision.
Good physical stamina and strength to handle prolonged standing, lifting, and manual tasks.
Knowledge of construction tools and machinery.
Strong communication skills, work ethic, reliability, and ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to read and understand construction plans and safety guidelines.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for on-the-job travel.
Prior construction or labor experience.
Knowledge of construction safety protocols and willingness to follow OSHA standards.
Ability to pass background checks and random drug tests.
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 45.0 – 55.0 per week
