Behavioral Health Paraprofessional
1099 Independent Contractor Position
Position Summary
The Behavioral Health Paraprofessional provides skill-building and support services to individuals receiving behavioral health treatment. Services are delivered under the direction of a Licensed Clinician and in accordance with agency policy, DBHDD standards, and Medicaid guidelines.
This is an independent contractor (1099) position.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide behavioral health support services to assigned clients either in their home, community, or via telehealth.
- Must be able to teach clients SKILLS, such as: coping skills, anger management skills, social skills, stress reduction skills, conflict resolution skills, communication skills, educational skills, life skills, self-care skills, etc
- Support symptom management and behavioral stabilization
- Document all services provided in a timely and accurate manner
- Submit completed documentation within 72 hours.
- Communicate regularly with assigned Clinical Manager regarding client progress or concerns
- Attend required supervision meetings and trainings
- Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
- Experience working with individuals with mental health or behavioral health needs preferred
- Ability to work independently and manage schedule effectively
- Reliable transportation (if providing community-based services)
Documentation & Compliance Requirements
- Must maintain all required credentials and trainings
- Must comply with Medicaid, DBHDD, and agency documentation standards
- Must complete all required background checks
Compensation
- $20-$25 per billable hour based on credentials and experience.
