Job Summary

The Student Worker position in the Office of Afterschool Achievement provides essential clerical and operational support. The student worker assists with day-to-day administrative functions, serves as a point of contact for office visitors and callers, and contributes to a professional and welcoming office environment. This position offers students the opportunity to develop transferable workplace skills including communication, organization, time management, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

Front Office & Customer Service - 40
Assist with direction and supervision to participants of the High Achievers Program.

Assist program with behavioral management and discipline.

Greet and assist students, faculty, staff, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.

Answer and route incoming phone calls; take and relay accurate messages.

Monitor and respond to the departmental email inbox as directed by supervisor.

Provide general information about office services, procedures, and referrals.

Clerical & Administrative - 30
Perform data entry, filing, scanning, copying, and document preparation tasks.

Maintain physical and electronic filing systems.

Assist with relocating supplies to designated site.

Manage mail distribution and supply inventory as assigned.

Assist with the development and implementation of summer lesson plans and schedules.

Responsible for collecting and submitting monthly attendance and observation sheets to the program manager or designated appointee.

Technology & Systems - 25
Proficienct ability using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Support digital record-keeping and database entry tasks.

Other - 5
Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Current enrollment as a student at the institution; at least half-time status, which is 6 credit hours.

Ability to work a flexible schedule around class commitments.

Experience working in an office setting,

Experience working with high school students.

Proposed Salary

$12.50 / hour
