Job Overview

Serves as the initial point of contact for all customers to Outbound Mailing Services to ensure a positive first impression and professional transaction of business. Identifies specific requirements and assists customers with their mailing requests. Monitors all jobs to ensure quality control from start to finish, and timely production. Prepares cost estimates, U. S. Postal Service (USPS) documentation for bulk mailings, maintains liaison with USPS officials, University departments, and outside vendors to ensure projects are properly completed and entered into the U. S. Postal Service system on schedule. In addition, this position must oversee accurate and timely submission of departmental worktags for charge back via the University’s JV system.

Responsible for all outbound shipments to Georgetown University’s Qatar campus. Follows the MOU and Standard Operating Procedures signed and written with GU-Q for precise procedures necessary to track and ship materials and books to Qatar. Manages the process with FedEx for proper shipping and tracking documentation.

Work Interactions

This position works with the entire Georgetown community, including the Qatar campus. This position all assists with the Managed Print program, ordering paper for university printers and assisting with operations to support the program. This is a “hands on” supervisory position that reports to the Operations and Logistics Manager, and occasionally assigns work, provides technical guidance and assistance to the Mailing Service Clerks to ensure operational efficiency.

Requirements And Qualifications

  • High school graduate with at least 2 years experience in mail processing operations
  • Must be knowledgeable of basic accounting functions, be computer literate, and have in-depth knowledge of Google suite and Microsoft office
  • Strong interpersonal skills, strong written and oral communication skills, and ability to maintain attention to detail while managing multiple tasks

Pay Range

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$18.28 - $27.33

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
