OBJECTIVE |
A school principal's job involves leading daily operations, overseeing curriculum development, and supervising staff, while fostering a positive, safe learning environment that supports academic success. It requires strong leadership, communication, and management to oversee budgets, ensure compliance, build community with parents and staff, and drive strategic goals for student achievement. Key duties include managing staff evaluations, budgeting, setting standards, handling discipline, and reporting on performance.
Under the direction of the CEO, President, and Superintendent, the Principal manages the school's operations and educational programs, including supervising teachers and other staff and evaluating and pursuing related programs. The principal’s role is to provide strategic direction for the school system, develop a standardized curriculum, assess teaching methods, monitor student achievement, encourage parent involvement, administer the budget, hire and evaluate staff, and oversee facilities.
The principal must be a strategic thinker with strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, as well as enthusiasm and credibility to create and sustain instructional momentum across the district’s curriculum and instruction. The principal oversees staff development opportunities that address staff's diverse learning needs related to academic programming. The principal also serves on the District’s Instructional Leadership Team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS |
Supervise classroom instructional practices.
Plans, organizes, and directs the implementation of all school activities.
Establishes and maintains an effective learning climate in the school.
Works in cooperation with the Superintendent to ensure the effective implementation of the school curriculum and mandated assessments.
Establishes guidelines and fosters positive incentives for student behavior.
Initiates, designs, and implements programs to meet the school's specific needs.
Keeps the Superintendent informed of the school’s activities and issues that may arise.
Communicate regularly with parents, seeking their support and advice, to build a cooperative relationship that helps the student in school.
Establish a professional rapport with students and staff.
Display the highest ethical and professional behavior and standards when working with students, parents, and school personnel.
Serve as a role model for students, dressing professionally, demonstrating the importance of appearance in the education profession.
Responsible for coordinating and facilitating staff development training.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND EXPERIENCE |
Required: Bachelor’s Degree required (master’s degree preferred).
Required: Principal Certification.
Required: Five years’ experience as a classroom teacher.
Required: Three years of administrative or supervisory experience.
Required: Experience preparing and managing budgets.
