Construction Branch Manager

George L. Wilson & Co., the tri-state’s number one source for high quality construction equipment and supplies is currently looking for a Construction Branch Manager. We have been serving the construction industry in Western PA and West Virginia since 1969. This position will be based in Erie, PA.

OVERVIEW:

The Construction Branch Manager is to oversee all functions of their location from managing customer relations to implementing business. Applicants should have a good combination of analytical and communication skills as well as the ability to adapt to a constantly evolving industry. The ideal candidate should be excited about building a great team and establishing a good rapport with new and existing clients in the area. These employees will guide the team to success. The successful candidate will value teamwork, transparency, and accountability above all else.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Identify, evaluate, and manage strategic risks and opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with company and industry policies and procedures.
• Increase the overall productivity of the branch by implementing relevant employee training, budgeting effectively, eliminating inefficiencies and capturing growth opportunities.
• Maintain fruitful relationships with current customers and establish good relationships with new ones.
• Develop and oversee sales and marketing strategies.
• Manage daily operations, especially customer service and finance activities, and make improvements as needed.
• Oversee time and attendance
• Hire/Terminate responsibilities
• Interview prospective candidates
• Assume overall responsibility for profitability of branch
• Oversee all branch sales, warehousing, pricing, accounting, and customer service
• Approve all branch office expenditures for purchase of supplies and equipment
• Prepare budget and sales forecast for management
• Perform duties inherent in all supervisory positions
• Ensure that OSHA and safety standards are observed
• Review daily sales, open sales orders, open purchase orders.
• Conduct regular and spot inventory counts
• Continually seek more efficient processes and ways to improve profitability
• Keep informed of competitors 'activities
• Keep abreast of industry trends
• Approve and schedule smooth branch operational vacation and personal time off

COMPETENCIES:

• Strong analytical skills.
• At least two years of experience in management, finance, sales or a relevant business role.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects at once.
• Excellent communication and writing skills.
• Great leadership skills.
• Understanding of distribution products, when to keep things in stock
• Understanding of City and County laws - safety, noise control, etc.
• Keep office's catalogs and price lists current
• Basic computer skills

DEGREE: Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience

This is a salaried position. It will be based in the Erie area but training may be at a current branch office. All expenses will be paid during training along with salary.
